Colombano Romean Ecomuseum

In the town of Salbertrand, the Ecomuseum "Colombano Romean" is worth a visit, since it preserves important evidences of the local material and immaterial culture.
The sections you can visit in the Ecomuseum include the Water Mill of Salbertrand Community and the Wood-burning Oven in Oulme country hamlet, documenting the entire bread-making cycle by linking the different moments of cereal processing and illustrating the links between the existing professions and the domestic world.
The Parish Church Treasure Museum in the sacristy of San Giovanni Battista Church and the recently renovated Annunciation Chapel in Oulme witness the religiousness and great knowledge of a Community deeply linked to its own traditions.
Moreover, it is possible to visit a 19th century Ice-house and a blockbau wooden reconstruction of the prototype of the Smoke-sauna planned by the famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto for his experimental house in Muuratsalo (Finland), a Charcoal Pile with the different preparation stages in the woodland, and the section dedicated to the Glorieuse Rentrée.
Under study, the recovery of a kiln to fire the lime, a quarry to extract the structural stone, and the preparation of a forest building site.

The Ecomuseum can be visited during the guided visits whose program you can find within the calendar of events organized every year by the Park Authority, during the theater visits organized in collaboration with the Cultural Association ArTeMuDa, or by previous booking and on payment.
- for organized groups, guided visits by previous booking: 120 Euros full day (100 Euros for schools), 80 Euros half day (60 Euros for schools)
- for individuals or small groups, extraordinary openings on demand (by previous booking)

In order to promote self-guided visits, a route equipped with specific signs and descriptive panels has been created: it develops in the protected area and among the ancient streets of the village of Salbertrand. Brochures translated into French, English, and German can be found in the Park Head Offices and in the local tourist offices. Without tour guide, the sites can be visited only outside.
